Museum Visit: "The Road to the Baroque — Masterpieces from the Capodimonte Museum" at HKMoA
Join us on a special viewing of these beautiful masterpieces, with a special lecture delivered by HKMoA’s Amy Chan, Assistant Curator of International Programmes.
The exhibition showcases around 40 Neapolitan paintings from the Capodimonte Museum. In its debut exhibition in Hong Kong, the HKMoA has loaned works of 16th and 17th century masters such as Titian, Annibale Carracci, and Artemisia Gentileschi from Italy.
Local artists Kingsley Ng and Chow Chun-fai provide artistic responses with various creative media to the works of the Baroque masters, and missquai has provided illustrations to accompany the exhibition. Their efforts enrich the exhibition with a Hong Kong perspective, allowing the audience to enjoy an art experience that connects past and present.
The exhibition is exclusively sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club; jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the MiC – Italian Ministry of Culture; jointly organised by Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, and supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Hong Kong.
