Hidden amidst the Himalayas, Bhutan is a landlocked country trapped in a time warp. Marked by raw natural beauty, she mesmerizes with historical dzongs and natives dressed in traditional gho and kira. The way of life is guided by the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. This rich culture and heritage is interlinked to the people's view of 'gross national happiness' as a yardstick to quality of life versus the international standard of 'gross domestic product'.

Our speaker, Rinpoche Neyphug is the 9th reincarnation of Terton Ngawang Dragpa. An authority on Buddhism, he will discuss Buddhism and the gross national happiness in Bhutan as well as share the beauty, charm and religious heritage of this Himalayan Kingdom. (We wish to thank Country Holidays Ltd and Aman Resorts for sponsoring Rinpoche Neyphug's visit.)

This talk will be presented in the Long Men Lou Vegetarian Restaurant located inside the Nan Lian Garden of the Chi Lin Nunnery complex. Following the talk, a vegetarian dinner prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients will be served. It is recommended to arrive earlier for a stroll through the beautiful and tranquil setting of the Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden.

Do join us for the start of the new year with mindful food for body and soul.
