Paul Lau Kwok-leung's Gallery and Butterfly Garden in Lamma Isand
With the cooler weather in October, a day trip is organized to visit the gallery and butterfly garden of professional photographer Paul Lau Kowk-leung. After a 30-minute ferry ride from Central to Sok Kwu Wan, Lau will guide us on a 15-minute walk along the coastal path to his gallery. Calling this his private museum, it exhibits Lau's vivid photographic works from the 1980s covering ethnic heritage and local natural heritage.
The gallery is featured in a local-style, tile-roof village house and surrounded by a beautiful garden with special plants and flowers that attract a variety of butterflies. Here, Lau will give an introduction about butterfly watching and butterfly gardening. We should be able to see various stages of the development of the butterflies that he is raising. After the visit, we will return to the village and enjoy a local seafood lunch on share-cost basis before heading back to the city.
